LiveCode and Arduino Training

The students of ASRJC tremendously enjoyed being exposed to LiveCode and Arduino as they were introduced into the world of computing and programming, to encourage them to become contributors to and creators of the Internet rather than mere consumers.

LiveCode is an easy, English-like, object-oriented, event-driven programming language. Despite its simplicity, it is a powerful, full featured language with over 2,000 commands and behaviours while an Arduino is a small computer that you can program to control things like lights or motors along with listening to components like motion detection sensors. It can give your project interactivity without needing an expensive and large circuit. Instead, you use a computer to program the Arduino, upload your code to the Arduino, and hook up your circuit.

ACP is very excited about introducing young students to computer programming. Instead of just playing with games and apps, students get to go behind the screen and create their own website and apps. I hope this will spark their interest and give them a foothold in the programming world.
